Koryo Sungkyunkwan Academy Has New Building
Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- A new building of the Koryo Sungkyunkwan Academy was constructed at the foot of Mt. Songak in Kaesong City.

The building is located beside the main building and has three blocks. It has modern comprehensive lecture room, classrooms, experimental rooms, chair rooms, welfare facilities, etc. that are necessary for teaching, scientific research and study.

An opening ceremony was held on Wednesday.

Present there were DPRK Premier Choe Yong Rim, Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Pak Thae Dok, chief secretary of the North Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the WPK, and Kang Yong Su, chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Kim Yong Il, chief secretary of the Kaesong City Committee of the WPK, said in his opening speech that President Kim Il Sung visited Kaesong City on May. 5, 1992, named the academy, clarified its founding year, defined faculties and subjects and clarified in detail the issues arising in the construction and management.

Leader Kim Jong Il indicated the direction and ways for building the new modern building despite pressure of work, he said.

The dear respected Kim Jong Un provided wise leadership for the construction of the new building, he said.

He called upon all the teachers and students to steadily improve the educational content and ways and establish the study morale so as to become able teachers and talents who can contribute to the development of light industry and improvement of the people's standard of living.
