New Saturant for Agrochemicals Developed in DPRK
Pyongyang, September 18 (KCNA) -- Scientists of the Institute for Botany Protection under the Academy of Agricultural Science have developed a new type of saturant raising the efficacy of agrochemicals.

This saturant, made of refined mineral oil emulsified into water without using organic solvent or surfactant, enhances the adhesion of agrochemicals.

When the saturant is sprayed to leaves or stalks of crops, it forms oil film on the surface of vermin eggs to shut out their breathing. Some of oil penetrates inside eggs through stigma and congeals their protein. It also goes into the mouth of vermin including tick and aphis to deter breathing.

The introduction of the saturant can considerably raise the effect of agrochemicals while decreasing the amount of their application by half.

The saturant won a high appreciation at the 12th National Exhibition of Inventions and New Technologies held recently.
