U.S. Can Never Cover up Its True Colors as Hideous Nuclear Criminal: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- It was disclosed recently that the U.S. attempted to use nuclear weapons against the Korean people several times during the Korean war, says Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a bylined article.

It goes on:

When the U.S. was driven to a tight corner during the Korean war, it sought to create "a no man zone" which allows no access to it by spraying a lot of radioactive materials including plutonium and nuclear waste in the area which divides the Korean Peninsula.

This was disclosed after a report worked out by the FBI on April 20, 1951 was declassified.

Even after the ceasefire in the Korean war, the U.S. perpetrated ceaseless military provocations and nuclear war exercises against the DPRK together with the south Korean puppet forces, kicking off nuclear hysteria.

The U.S. imperialists massively shipped nuclear weapons to south Korea and its vicinity in the postwar period, openly blustering that they suffered a miserable defeat in the Korean war as they did not use nukes.

The Korean Peninsula was designated as the next target of nuclear strike after the U.S. dropped A-bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Therefore, the peninsula remains the most dangerous region as the U.S. has never changed its scenario for nuclear attack.

The U.S. moves to ignite a nuclear war against the DPRK have become all the more undisguised since 1976 when it kicked off the Team Spirit joint military exercises together with the south Korean puppet forces as annual events.

Historical facts go to eloquently prove that the U.S. is the arch criminal who posed a nuclear threat to the Korean Peninsula and the DPRK is its victim.

It is an entirely legitimate measure for self-defence for the DPRK to bolster up its nuclear deterrent to cope with the U.S. scenario to mount a preemptive nuclear attack any time, while escalating the nuclear threat to the DPRK, the article concludes.
