Russian Paper Slams Japan's Ambition for Territorial Expansion
Moscow, September 14 (KCNA) --The Russian paper Nezabisimaya Gazetta carried an article denouncing Japan for its ambition to expand its territory.

The paper said:

Japan has made desperate efforts to persistently rub salt into the wounds of the people who suffered from the Pacific War, far from seriously repenting of the aggression it committed against its neighboring countries in the last century.

Japan's claim to the Southern Kuriles only reminds those who live in the Far Eastern and Siberian regions of the Imperial Japanese Army who burned people to death during the civil war and attacked bases of the Soviet Army.

Japan's hysteric reaction to the Russian head of state's visit to Kunarshir Island in November 2010 made the Russian politicians feel that Japan does not recognize the outcome of the Second World War and is seeking to reexamine it whenever an opportunity presents itself.

It is the view of the countries in the region that the Japanese society is trying hard to discard the guilty conscience of the atrocities committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past, transforming itself in the direction of giving momentum to the nationalist tendency, the paper concluded.
