South Headquarters of Pomminryon Accuses S. Korean Regime of Suppressing Pro-Reunification Figure
Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea' Reunification (Pomminryon) issued a statement on Sept. 12 denouncing the south Korean puppet regime for suppressing a pro-reunification figure.

The statement recalled that that day the police stormed the house of Han Ki Myong, chairman of the Taegu and North Kyongsang Provincial Federation of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon, and searched it, copying the data in his computer and confiscating information and books concerning the activities of the South Headquarters and the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification.

The statement continued: The present "government" brought back the south-north relations to those of confrontation in the past and pushed them to the worst phase. Not content with this, it is working hard to force the pro-reunification figures to fall victims to a repressive campaign launched under the pretext of security though they carried on righteous activities.

Lurking behind the authorities' ceaseless crackdown upon the South Headquarters of Pomminryon and pro-reunification figures is a sinister design to create favorable conditions for them to win the forthcoming "presidential" election.

Such clampdown would only touch off stronger protest among the people from all walks of life and the group of traitors is bound to face a severe punishment in the election, the statement warned.

It urged the Lee Myung Bak regime to immediately give up its foolish design to stay in power through the suppression of patriotic figures.
