U.S. Is Bound to Meet Shameful Destruction: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- The Korean people love peace more than others and do not want a war, but the situation on the Korean Peninsula is now inching close to the brink of a war despite the DPRK's peace-loving efforts, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in a bylined article.

It goes on:

The U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces kicked off large-scale war exercises for aggression by raking up forces following them. The undisguised provocation and challenge have posed a serious threat to the security of Korea.

Historically the U.S. has pursued the hostile policy toward the DPRK, far from taking the stand of solving problems based on the respect for sovereignty in its persistent bid to topple the social system in the DPRK.

The U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK has remained unchanged in the period of the present administration.

The U.S. is staging saber-rattling by mobilizing huge forces and modern war equipment enough to fight a war. Included there are units of the U.S. forces, their commanding officers and staff members to be hurled in case of "contingency" on the Korean Peninsula.

The U.S. portrays war exercises it wages every year as "annual exercises" and "defense exercises". This is just nonsense to loosen the vigilance of the DPRK and make a surprise attack on it.

The U.S. imperialists' reckless provocations for a war have created the constant tension on the peninsula where a war may break out any moment.

The military and technological superiorities are no longer the U.S. monopoly.

If the U.S. misjudges the situation and dares ignite a war against the DPRK, it will suffer disaster incomparable with the defeat it sustained in the past Korean War, the article warns.
