Reception Given by Cuban Ambassador on DPRK's Birthday
Pyongyang, September 13 (KCNA) -- Cuban Ambassador to the DPRK German Hermin Ferras Alvarez on Thursday hosted a reception at his embassy to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the DPRK.

Present there on invitation were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Kim Yong Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and officials concerned.

The ambassador said in his speech the development of the friendly relations between the DPRK and Cuba would be unthinkable without the efforts made by Fidel Castro Ruz and Raul Castro Ruz and leader Kim Jong Il.

Cuba will boost the friendly relations between the two parties and peoples as intended by the top leaders, the ambassador added.

On behalf of the party, government and people of Cuba, the ambassador wished the dear respected Kim Jong Un success in his responsible work for leading the Korean people.

Yang Hyong Sop said Cuban comrades significantly celebrated the anniversary of the founding of the DPRK every year, adding it is a clear indication of their fraternal feelings and solidarity and this greatly encourages the Korean people in their drive for building a thriving nation.

He said he was pleased that the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Cuba are steadily growing under the deep care of the top leaders of the two countries.

Yang hoped that the fraternal Cuban people would achieve greater successes in the struggle to foil the U.S. blockade against their country, defend the gains of socialism and implement the decisions of the 6th party congress, rallied close around Fidel Castro Ruz and Raul Castro Ruz.
