Wreath Laid before Martyrs' Cemeteries
Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery and floral baskets before the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Memorial Tower on Sunday, the 64th anniversary of the DPRK.

Seen at the wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Guards of honor of the KPA lined up at the cemeteries and tower.

Present at the wreath and floral basket-laying ceremonies were senior party, state and army officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and working people in Pyongyang.

Wreaths were placed before the cemeteries in the name of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet. A floral basket was placed before the main theme sculpture "Victory" of the tower in the joint name of the Central Committee and Central Military Commission of the WPK.

Laid before the cemeteries and tower were wreaths, floral baskets and bouquets in the name of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of People's Security, working people's organizations, ministries, national institutions, units of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, scientific, educational, public health and media organs and party and power organs in Pyongyang.

The participants observed a moment's silence to the memory of the martyrs who dedicated themselves to the struggle for the country's liberation, people's freedom and happiness and the DPRK's prosperity under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

They expressed deep respect for the servicepersons of the heroic KPA who achieved historic victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War and honorably defended the sovereignty of the country and gains of the revolution.

They looked round the cemeteries and tower.

On the same day wreaths were placed before the statues of martyrs, cemeteries, monuments to the fallen fighters of the KPA and graves of martyrs across the DPRK.
