Feats of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for Education
|Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Thirty-five years have passed since President Kim Il Sung made public "Theses on Socialist Education", a great program of Juche-based education, on September 5, Juche 66 (1977).
On this anniversary, the DPRK people recollect the immortal exploits performed by the President for the development of the nation's education.
Expounded in the theses are all theoretical and practical issues arising in socialist education, including the fundamentals and principles of pedagogy and the content and methods of socialist education.
The President clarified the important matters arising in implementing the theses in every period of the developing revolution and paid deep concern to the development of the educational work until the last moments of his life.
He turned the DPRK into a country of learning and laid solid foundations for steady development of the Juche-oriented education. This is his great exploit that will remain forever in the history of the nation.
Leader Kim Jong Il wisely guided the work to carry out the theses on socialist education advanced by the President.
He authored "On Further Developing Educational Work" and other celebrated works to clearly indicate the orientation and ways for effecting a new turn in educational work as required by the developing situation.
Touring Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1, he took measures to improve general secondary education and bring about a turn in higher education.
