Rodong Sinmun Lauds Kim Jong Il's Feats for Building Thriving Nation
Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun on Thursday dedicates a bylined article to the fourth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's work "The Democratic People's Republic of Korea Is a Socialist State of Juche with Invincible Might".

The work, published on Sep. 5, 2008, reviews with pride the 60-year long history of the DPRK in which it won victories under the leadership of the great leader and the great party.

It also clarifies the popular and independent character of the DPRK based on the Juche idea and its invincible might. It comprehensively indicates the tasks and ways for vigorously speeding up the building of a thriving nation.

The work serves as a very important document which the army and people of the DPRK should hold fast to accomplish the cause of building a thriving socialist nation of Juche, the article notes, and goes on:

The dignity and might of the DPRK reached the highest level under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.

He enforced the policy of love and trust in the people all his life, taking the noble maxim of believing in people as in Heaven as a starting-point and a basic ideal of nation-building and state activities. He laid it down as a fundamental principle for building a rich and powerful country to preserve Juche character and national identity and maintain the line of independence and strictly adhered to it in the whole period of his leadership over the revolution.

Songun was his political creed, a way of struggle and revolutionary practice.

It was thanks to his Songun leadership that the DPRK could demonstrate its dignity as a socialist military power with matchless revolutionary armed forces and powerful defense industry.

Kim Jong Il firmly protected the dignity and destiny of the country and its people with arms and paved a wide avenue for achieving the prosperity of the country with Songun. These immortal patriotic exploits will shine forever.
