DPRK Affected by Typhoon-15
Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- Typhoon-15, which swept across the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, claimed material damages in some parts of the country.

In South Hwanghae Province, the typhoon ravaged over 8 500 hectares of maize field, toppled more than 600 roadside trees and removed roofs of several public buildings.

In North Hwanghae Province, it inactivated TV relay facilities, tumbled down more than 2 600 roadside trees and destroyed or damaged some 20 dwelling houses and public buildings.

In Nampho City, the typhoon ravaged about 60 hectares of maize field and broke several light poles, causing outage.

The same is true for South Phyongan, Kangwon and South Hamgyong provinces.

Many hectares of farmland were devastated and more than 500 roadside trees fell down.

A lot of dwelling houses and roads were submerged and trunk lines buried by landslide in some sections of railroad in the provinces.
