Friendship Gatherings Held in Russia
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Friendship gatherings took place in Belogorsk City and at a village of Amur Region of Russia on August 21 and 22 to mark the first anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's visit to Siberia and Far Eastern Regions of Russia.

Present there were personages of the Bureya Hydro-electric Plant, the Belogorsk City Administration, an art school of the city, a school of the village and other Russian people, a delegation of the DPRK-Russia Friendship Association and students of DPRK-Russia Friendship Moranbong Secondary School No. 1 on a visit to Amur Region.

The students put on the stage chorus of Korean songs "Forward, Following the Footstep of Teacher Kim Jong Un", female quartet "The General and Children", violin solo "March of Children's Union" and female chorus of Russian songs "Suburbs of Moscow in Evening", female duet "Kalinka" and other colorful numbers overflowing with the feelings of friendship between the DPRK and Russia.

The manager of the hydro-electric plant said that the wonderful performance given by the Korean students to mark the first anniversary of Kim Jong Il's visit to the plant added to the atmosphere of Russia-DPRK friendship, and their happy appearance convinced him of a rosy future of the DPRK.

The principal of the art school said that the art skill of Korean students is very high, noting that all Koreans enjoy genuine arts and live in optimism. This serves as the source of inexhaustible might of the DPRK, the principal added.

The principal of the school in the village said that he became to know well about the advantageous educational policy and social system in the DPRK through bright and delight feature and art skill of Korean students. I hope for more active exchange and cooperation between students of the two countries in the future, he added.
