Rungna Islet Takes on New Look
Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- Rungna Islet is situated in the River Taedong flowing across the heart of the capital city of Pyongyang.

The islet has been famous for groves of weeping willow in its margin.

It boasts of May Day Stadium and Rungna People's Pleasure Park.

The stadium was the venue of the opening ceremony of the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students in 1989.

The grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" has taken place in the stadium in recent years.

The Rungna People's Pleasure Park consists of dolphinarium, wading pool, fun fair, mini golf course, etc.

The wading pool, at the entrance of the pleasure park, includes 10-meter-high diving tower, water slides and shower bath.

In the dolphinarium, people can enjoy various feats of dolphins.

More than 3 500 people visit the dolphinarium each day.

Installed in the fun fair were rotary hawk, merry-go-round, free fall, mad mouse, etc.

Pak Song Un, a student at Kim Chaek University of Technology, after enjoying the spaceship, said that he wants to become a space scientist so as to contribute to developing the nation's space science.

The pleasure park is associated with respected Marshal Kim Jong Un's deep concern for public entertainment.
