Section Discussions Held at Int'l Academic Symposium of Kim Il Sung University
Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- Section discussions took place at the International Academic Symposium of Kim Il Sung University on Tuesday.

Present there were teachers and researchers of the university, foreign delegations and delegates and a delegate of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

The symposium has been divided into sections of International Politics, Economics, Global Environmental Sciences, Multilingual Information Processing and Medical Science.

Made public at the sections were papers by prominent educators and scientists of famous universities and research institutes of different countries including the DPRK and a scholar of Chongryon.

Among them are "The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, a great defender of the stability on the Korean Peninsula and peace in Northeast Asia" (Ju Il Ung, teacher at Kim Il Sung University), "Peace and security issues on the Korean Peninsula" (Marceli Burdelski, vice-president of the International Science Association of Gdansk University, Poland), "Possibility for the building of knowledge-based economic power in the DPRK" (Pak Jong Chol, teacher at Kim Il Sung University), "Local capacity and global connections" (Prof. and Dr. Elmar Kulke, dean of Humboldt University of Germany), "Joint use of chaos theory and fuzzy-deduced neural network for monthly inflow forecasting in reservoir" (Jo Myong Bong, head of a department of Global Environmental Science faculty of Kim Il Sung University), "Study on database cross migration by modeling the database object hierarchically" (Ri Chung Hyok, researcher of Computer Science College of Kim Il Sung University), "Angiogenesis, researching

model and its application" (Prof. and Dr. Ryu Myong Su of Yanbian University of China) and "Clinical study of limb replantation" (Pak Chol Ryong, researcher of Microsurgery Laboratory of Clinical Research Institute of Pyongyang Medical College of Kim Il Sung University).

The speakers expounded academic issues.
