Jobless Rate Rises in South Korea
Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- Joblessness has reached a serious phase in Seoul, according to Yonhap News of south Korea.

According to a survey made by an expert organization on Monday, the number of the unemployed reached 2.43 million in Seoul this year.

This is an almost 20 percent increase over that in 2007.

Unemployed women accounted for 39 percent of the jobless people whose number sharply increased under the present regime.

In the recent five years, young people's unemployment rate in Seoul was comparatively higher than that in other areas.

Experts said that the number of the young unemployed is much greater than what was made public when those young people who gave up seeking jobs are included. They underscored the need to take urgent measures for providing jobs.
