Kim Il Sung's Exploits for Korea's Liberation Lauded by Foreigners
Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- Events took place between August 9 and 13 to mark the 67th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

They were meetings, lectures, book and photo exhibitions and reading sessions held by the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, the Group for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea of Democratic Congo and the Juche Philosophy Study Committee of India and at the hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Guinea.

Displayed in their venues were works of the peerlessly great men, books on their undying exploits and photos showing the successes made by the Korean people in building a thriving nation.

The chairman of the Russian Association said in his speech made at a meeting that the Korean people waged a protracted struggle under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung, adding that as a result, the country was freed from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule and its people emerged a dignified people.

The chairman expressed conviction that the tradition of friendship between the Russian and Korean peoples who fought against their common foes would steadily grow stronger.

The chairman of the Group for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea of Democratic Congo said in a lecture that thanks to the leadership of Kim Il Sung the Korean people fought against Japanese imperialism, liberating the country on August 15, 1945 and could build a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defense in the subsequent period.

The chairman of the Juche Philosophy Study Committee of India said the anti-Japanese armed struggle organized and led by Kim Il Sung was an unprecedented legendary guerrilla struggle, adding his great personality as the legendary commander of the guerrillas will remain long in history.

A congratulatory message to the dear respected Kim Jong Un was adopted at a meeting held in Russia.
