Heavy Shower Occurs in DPRK Again
Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- Torrential rain swept through the west and east coastal areas in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on Aug. 17-19.

According to data available, Phyongsan and Singye counties in North Hwanghae Province witnessed 494 mm and 424 mm rainfalls respectively, while Sepho and Ichon counties in Kangwon Province 469 mm and 434 mm rainfalls respectively.

It rained 355 mm in Yodok County, South Hamgyong Province, 349 mm in Sinphyong County, North Hwanghae Province and 302 mm in Pongchon County, South Hwanghae Province.

298 mm rainfall was observed in Samsok District, Pyongyang, 289 mm in Kumchon and 277 mm in Rinsan counties, North Hwanghae Province and 285 mm in Phyongsong City, South Phyongan Province.

Some 10 areas had precipitation above 200 mm and more than 50 areas above 100 mm throughout the country.

The downpour was accompanied by a strong wind in Phyongsong and Haeju cities, Pongchon and Phyongsan counties.
