S. Korean Prosecution Accused of Prejudiced Investigation
Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- The south Korean prosecution has hushed up cases in which the conservative regime is involved, and intensified investigation into opposition party and other democratic reform forces when investigating corruption cases of ruling and opposition parties ahead of the "presidential elections".

A spokesman for the Democratic Lawyers Association of Korea in a statement issued on Saturday said that this prejudiced investigation by the puppet prosecution is aimed to stifle the democratic reform forces and maintain the present conservative regime.

Citing facts to prove this, the statement continued:

Historically, south Korea's prosecution has earned an ill fame as a waiting maid of the dictatorial regime and a means for repressing the democratic reformists.

After taking office, the Lee Myung Bak regime let its closest and ultra-right fascist elements hold the posts of the prosecution, suppressing the movement of the south Koreans for independence, democracy and reunification.

The coteries of the puppet prosecution fear that they can stand trial together with the Lee regime if the conservative regime is replaced.

It is for this reason that the prosecution has intensified the campaign to push under the carpet power-backed graft cases and suppress democratic reform forces in conspiracy with the conservative forces. It is seeing the "presidential elections" as an occasion on which its fate hinges.

It is clear that the puppet prosecution would intensify suppression while hatching all kinds of conspiratorial cases unfavorable for the democratic reform forces as the elections approach.

The Democratic Lawyers Association of Korea strongly denounces the base and prejudiced investigation by the prosecution and the suppression of the democratic reform forces as a criminal act to turn the tide in its favor ahead of the elections and let the pro-U.S. conservative forces stay in power.

It would not be possible to realize the demand of the south Koreans for new politics and new life nor is it possible to expect the improvement in the north-south ties as long as the prosecution, a faithful dog of the conservative regime, is allowed to go on the rampage.

The south Koreans of all social standings should reject the prosecution's prejudiced investigation and turn out in the actions to foil the conservative regime's attempt to remain in office.

The prosecution should immediately stop the unfair investigation, clearly understanding that it will face stern punishment by the people if it keeps siding with traitor Lee, who is more dead than alive, and the "Saenuri Party" aligned with him.
