DPRK Players Return Home from London Olympics
Pyongyang, August 16 (KCNA) -- DPRK players who proved successful at the London Olympics flew back home on Thursday.

They bagged four gold medals and two bronze medals at the Olympic Games held from July 27 to August 12.

An Kum Ae and Rim Jong Sim won the titles of the 52kg category of women's judo and 69kg category of women's weightlifting respectively while Kim Un Guk and Om Yun Chol the titles of the 62kg and 56kg categories of men's weightlifting.

Kim Un Guk and Om Yun Chol broke the world and Olympic records in the men's weightlifting.

Ryang Chun Hwa placed third in the women's 48kg weightlifting event and Yang Kyong Il in the men's 55kg freestyle wrestling event.

Pyongyang citizens and sportspersons enthusiastically welcomed the players at the airport.

They were greeted by Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier, Ri Yong Su, department director of the WPK Central Committee, and officials concerned.

The sportspersons paid tribute to portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

They got on a bus acknowledging the cheers of the crowds.

They were warmly welcomed by Pyongyangites from all walks of life, passing through street of tens of ris including Ryonghung cross street, Kaesonmun street and Changjon street.
