Monument of Chinese Unveiled in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- A monument to the memory of Chinese Zhang Jingrong was unveiled in Rason City of the DPRK on Sunday.

Officials of the Rason City People's Committee and people took part in the unveiling ceremony.

Also attending it were the consul general of China in Chongjin, government officials of the Yanbian Korean Nationality Autonomous Prefecture, family members and relatives of the late and foreign guests staying in Rason City.

Choe Ryon Suk, vice-chairwoman of the Rason City People's Committee, made a speech at the ceremony.

Chinese businessman Zhang Jingrong sacrificed himself to save three Korean girls swept away by sudden high waves at the Chujin bathing resort on August 15, 2010, the vice-chairwoman said.

She added noble internationalism displayed by Zhang would be remembered forever by the peoples of the DPRK and China.

After the speech, a red cloth was unveiled from the monument.

The son of Zhang Jingrong and Korean woman Jon Un Ju saved by Zhang made speeches.

The participants placed a floral basket and bouquets before the monument before looking around it.
