KCNA Report on Kim Jong Il's Journeys for Patriotic Devotion (2)
Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il visited servicepersons and workers displaying exceptionally high patriotic zeal to highly praise them for performing feats and warmly encourage them in their devoted efforts, reposing deep trust in them and showing warm loving care for them.

The revolutionary soldier spirit and the Kanggye spirit were created at a time when there was warm affection between the leader and his soldiers and all the service members and people turned out as one in hearty response to the leader's patriotic call.

Flames of Hamnam, the flames of all-out charge flared up in the wake of the kindling of the Songgang, Ranam and Kangson torches. These changes resulted in remarkably augmenting the ideological and mental power of the people in the DPRK.

He initiated the Three-Revolution Red Flag Movement and developed it into an all-people patriotic movement. This period witnessed the appearance of more than three million standard-bearers of the three-revolution, which brought about a new turn in the ideological and moral traits and work-style of people.

Saying the "Patriotic Song" is the DPRK national anthem unlike other countries, he granted the precious title of "patriot" to the martyrs who laid down their lives while fighting for the country and named the martyrs cemetery "Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery". He made sure that former unconverted long-term prisoners who remained true to their faith as revolutionaries for decades are called pro-reunification patriots and many factories of the country built with the sincerity of overseas Korean businessmen shine with the word of patriotism.

He saw to it that alma maters of the heroes who dedicated their youth in their twenties and thirties to the country were renamed after them and their busts were erected there so that the whole country might learn from their spiritual world. Tens of thousands of heroes and men of meritorious service were produced in the era of Songun under his loving care.

The DPRK has turned into a large harmonious family in which all its members help each other and lead each other forward. People do not hesitate to donate their blood and flesh to their revolutionary comrades and take care of war veterans, disabled honored soldiers and orphans as their kith and kin in the noble spirit of "One for all and all for one!" This is a product of the Workers' Party of Korea's politics of love for the country and its people.

The revolutionary military songs sung by the State Merited Chorus during the Arduous March resounded far and wide as a sound of bugle for advance in the times.

Art performances given by service members and military families, concerts by the Unhasu Orchestra, light comedy "An Echo among the Hills", drama "We Will Recollect Today", etc. instilled ardent patriotism into all service members and people.
