High Temperature Persists in Korea
Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- Most areas of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea had suffered from typhoon-triggered downpour from July 18, affected by seasonal rainy front.

However, the rainy front moved north of 40 degrees North Latitude from July 31, causing temporary stoppage of rainfall in the west coastal areas except North Phyongan Province.

Sultry weather lingers, affected by the subtropical high pressure from the northwest Pacific.

In particular, 32 to 34 degrees Celsius have been registered in the west coastal areas from August 1, two to five degrees Celsius higher than the average year.

The high temperature is expected to continue until August 9.
