Weightlifting Enthusiasm Runs High in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- Many youngsters, desirous of becoming weightlifters, are on increase in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, prompted by its weightlifters' successes at London Olympics.

Kim Myong Ho, principal of the Tongrim County Juvenile Sports School, told KCNA:

"My school has turned out many worldwide weightlifting stars in the past scores of years.

Among them are world champions, People's Athlete Kim Myong Nam and Labor Hero and People's Athlete Ri Song Hui and a Beijing Olympic champion, People's Athlete Pak Hyon Suk.

Besides, tens of graduates set new weightlifting records at domestic competitions.

A number of youngsters and their parents are now calling at the school to apply for learning weightlifting from across the country."

Gold medals won by DPRK athletes at ongoing London Olympics have given big strength and courage to local sportspersons.

The prestige of weightlifting Olympic champions Om Yun Chol, Kim Un Guk and Rim Jong Sim is soaring high nowadays, kicking up weightlifting enthusiasm throughout the country.
