DPRK Sportspersons Prove Successful at Olympic Games
Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- Athletes of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have bagged four gold medals at London Olympics as of Aug. 1.

Among them are judoist An Kum Ae and weightlifters Om Yun Chol, Kim Un Guk and Rim Jong Sim.

Their admirable results remind the Korean people of those who won gold medals in the previous Olympic Games.

The DPRK has attended Olympic Games from the 20th Summer Olympiad.

In that Olympiad, Ri Ho Jun set a new world record by scoring 599 points out of 600 in the small-bore rifle shooting.

Boxer Ku Yong Jo defeated a U.S. rival in the finals at the 21st Olympiad.

In the 25th Olympiad, Pae Kil Su rose to a star in vaulting horse event and Kim Il and Ri Hak Son won gold medals respectively in the men's 48kg and 52kg categories freestyle wrestling. And Choe Chol Su took the men's 51kg category boxing title.

In the 26th Olympiad a 16-year-old girl Kye Sun Hui won a women's judo gold by beating down a Japanese rival while wrestler Kim Il bagged second Olympic gold.

Hong Un Jong came first in the women's long horse event and Pak Hyon Suk in the women's 63kg category weightlifting in the 29th Olympiad.
