Rodong Sinmun Urges U.S. Not to Forget Lesson Taught by Its Defeat in Korean War
Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- 59 years have passed since the ceasefire in Korea, but the U.S. seems to have forgotten why it sustained such a shameful defeat in the last Korean War, says Rodong Sinmun Thursday in a bylined article.

The U.S. imperialists' invasion of the DPRK was the first war against the socialist country after the end of World War II, the article notes, and goes on:

The Korean People's Army was born as a regular army just two years back. However, it had to fight the numerically stronger U.S. forces which boasted of being "the strongest" in the world.

They employed the most savage and barbarous methods in the world history of wars to bring the Korean people to their knees.

With neither methods nor means the U.S. imperialists could subdue the Korean people all out in their cause of justice.

The arrogance of the American empire was humbled and suffered a shameless debacle in the Korean War.

The U.S. would be well advised not to forget the lesson that victory in the fight between justice and injustice and in the confrontation between peace champions and aggressors is in store for the people who struggle for the cause of justice and the aggressors are fated to suffer a shameful fiasco.

The U.S. imperialist warmongers, however, have never dropped their scenario to invade the DPRK.

Owing to their reckless war moves a touch-and-go situation prevails on the Korean Peninsula.

It is a daydream of the U.S. imperialists to seize the DPRK by force of arms.

They should not forget the above-said lesson. This is a solemn warning of the army and people of the DPRK to the U.S. warmongers.
