Changsong County rose to fame for its developed local industry. The county's factories, equipped with up-to-date machines, are in full operation with locally available raw materials.

Pak Tong Hi, vice-chairman of the Hoechang County People's Committee in South Phyongan Province, told KCNA:

"Our county is a mountainous area like Changsong County.

In recent years, our county has directed efforts to putting enterprise management on a scientific basis and made signal achievements."

The Hoechang Essential Foodstuff Factory finished the computerization of all its production processes and is now ensuring the production on a normal basis. Its products, bean paste, soy, liquor, bean curd and processed vegetables, are supplied to county residents non-stop.

The Hoechang Foodstuff Factory introduced advanced technology and control system to upgrade the quality of products. It also remolded a cookie-molding roller and applied a system of automatically controlling the temperature in the cookie production process. The bean milk production is increasing at the factory.

The same holds true for the Hoechang Furniture Factory.

It is no doubt that ours will soon be a well-off county."
