Koreans in U.S. Condemn U.S. and S. Korean Regime's Terrorism against DPRK
Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- The Federation of Koreans in the U.S. released a statement on July 24 denouncing the U.S. and the south Korean puppet regime for attempting hideous terrorism against the DPRK.

The statement said that the Koreans in the U.S. were shocked by the news of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities' attempted heinous terrorism against the DPRK.

It noted that they could hardly repress their resentment at Lee Myung Bak's nefarious policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen.

It lashed out at Lee for derailing the process to improve the inter-Korean relations through national reconciliation and cooperation in total denial of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and staging ceaseless drills for a war of aggression, driving the situation to the brink of a war.

The statement said: Not content with such crimes, the Lee regime worked out a sinister scenario to do harm to the compatriots in the north with a huge financial investment. It infiltrated a terrorist group into the north to blow up statues and monuments in a bid to float rumor that what would happen in the north was a sort of rebellion.

The recent attempted terrorism was a due outcome of the war moves of the Lee regime and the U.S. which has still kept the Korean Peninsula in a state of war although nearly 60 years have passed since the Armistice Agreement (AA) was signed.

The U.S. and the Lee regime should halt all the joint military drills targeting the DPRK.

The U.S. should roll back its hostile policy towards the DPRK at once, halt its war moves and replace AA by a peace-keeping mechanism.

The Lee regime should respect the two declarations and opt for national reconciliation and independent and peaceful reunification.
