Minju Joson Slams Projected U.S.-South Korea Joint Military Exercises
Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the Lee Myung Bak regime of south Korea announced that they would kick off Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises across south Korea on August 20. It was reported that the exercises, which will last till August 31, would involve huge forces including at least 30 000 U.S. forces, more than 56 000 south Korean troops and lots of war hardware.

Minju Joson Tuesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

The U.S. and the Lee regime assert that the above-said saber-rattling is for "ensuring security" and "maintaining combined defense posture" but it is nothing but sheer sophism to conceal the aggressive nature of the maneuvers.

The objective of Ulji Freedom Guardian staged by them every year was to carry out their scenario for a war against the DPRK and examine and round off the duties and procedures of operations to be conducted in the subsequent period.

What should not be overlooked is the fact that they are mulling hurling even riff-raffs into the exercises under the signboard of the UN. The U.S. hurled its mercenaries under the berets of "UN forces" into battlefields during the last Korean War fought against the DPRK. It is the ulterior design of the U.S. to use mercenaries of its allies as a shock brigade in the second Korean War, too. The south Korean puppet regime is desperately working to hurt compatriots, pursuant to the U.S. strategy for invading the DPRK.

Nothing is more foolish than their attempts to occupy the DPRK by force of arms.

It is an unshakable will of the army and people of the DPRK to wipe out the ferocious aggressors and blow up the bases for provocations once an order is issued.

The U.S. and rat-like Lee group will never escape retaliatory blows of the army and people of the DPRK as they are busy staging madcap saber-rattling against them, not satiated with their attempted monstrous terrorism.
