U.S. Suffers Enormous Losses in Korean War
Pyongyang, July 30 (KCNA) -- Nearly sixty years has passed since the Democratic People's Republic of Korea defeated the United States in the Korean War (June 1950-July 1953).

The war was ignited on June 25, 1950 by the U.S. imperialists by instigating the south Korean puppet army.

The U.S. brought to the war more than two million troops and huge latest weaponry, including one third of its ground force, a fifth of the air force and most of the Pacific Fleet, troops of its 15 satellites, the south Korean armed forces and the Japanese militarists.

However, the war ended in the DPRK's victory.

During the three years of war the enemy lost 1 567 128 troops, including 405 498 U.S. aggressor troops and 1 130 965 south Korean troops, and an enormous amount of combat equipment and war supplies, including 12 224 aircraft, 564 ships of different types, 7 695 artillery pieces, 3 255 tanks and armored vehicles, 13 350 motor vehicles and 925 152 small arms.

The victory in the war, won by the DPRK army and people under the command of President Kim Il Sung, brought about the beginning of a downhill turn for the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the world's "strongest".
