Downpour Hits DPRK
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Torrential rains with thunder hit almost areas of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, including Pyongyang and North and South Phyongan provinces, on Sunday, affected by the seasonal rainy front which moved toward the central part of Korea.

More than 100 mm of rainfalls were observed in Jongju City and Kwaksan, Unjon, Pakchon and Uiju counties of North Phyongan Province and Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang as of 15:00.

Downpour also hit most areas of North Phyongan Province, Pyongyang and Nampho cities, South Phyongan Province and some areas of Jagang Province.

In particular, it rained 109 mm in Jongju City from 09:20 to 12:12, 101 mm in Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang from 12:30 to 15:00, 86 mm in Uiju County from 06:50 to 08:00, 50 mm in Sinuiju City from 07:00 to 07:40, 51 mm in Taegwan County from 07:30 to 08:30, 68 mm in Tongrim County from 08:10 to 08:50, 65 mm in Sonchon County from 09:00 to 11:00, 58 mm in Tongchang County from 09:20 to 10:20, 70 mm in Kwaksan County from 09:30 to 10:30, 66 mm in Pakchon County from 10:05 to 11:25, 58 mm in Hyangsan County from 10:00 to 11:00, 60 mm in Unjon County from 10:40 to 11:40, 63 mm in Onchon County from 12:45 to 13:50, 50 mm in Taedong County from 13:00 to 14:00, 66 mm in Nyongwon County from 13:10 to 14:00 and 37 mm in Chosan County from 08:20 to 09:00.

Meanwhile, the wind measuring 25 m/s hit Samsok District, Pyongyang, and wind of 18 m/s and 12 m/s Phyongwon County and Phyongsong City, South Phyongan Province.

Most areas of the DPRK are expected to suffer big damage from continuous downpour accompanied by thunder and storm.
