Foreign Media Introduce DPRK
Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- Foreign media gave wide publicity to the Korean people's strenuous efforts to spruce up the country.

ITAR-TASS of Russia said:

The DPRK regards the environment preservation as a patriotic work for the wellbeing of the people.

The popular movement to green the whole land of the country is a regular event every year.

Measures have been taken to protect forests, and the number of natural reserves is on the steady increase.

La Juventud, the Uruguayan paper, reported:

A dynamic drive to manage the land in a promising way is being undertaken everywhere in the DPRK.

The fields were rezoned into large standardized ones and the nature-driven waterways were built.

The completion of the Taegyedo Tideland, the biggest ever in the history of tideland reclamation, turned the vast expanse of the shore into plain, fish farm and saltern, thereby reshaping the coastline of the country.

People's Daily of China said thanks to the priority given by the DPRK government to the environmental preservation, a great progress in this work has been made in Pyongyang and it became cleaner.

The Nepalese paper Charcha, the Lao paper Noum Lao and the Internet homepage of the Brazilian Center for the Study of the Juche Idea introduced the DPRK conducting the drive to bring about a radical change in the appearance of the land.
