Rodong Sinmun U.S. Will Suffer Disastrous Defeat If It Provokes War in Korea
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- July 27, 1953 was a tragic day for the U.S. It suffered the bitterest defeat in its history and was put to shame that day though it invaded the young DPRK while boasting of its myth of "mightiness".

Rodong Sinmun Sunday says this in a bylined article.

The U.S. boasted of having won only victories in all battles including the world war, the article notes, and goes on:

The U.S. imperialists hurled into the Korean War one third of their army, one fifth of their air force and most of battleships belonging to the Pacific Fleet and over 2 million troops including those of their 15 satellite nations and south Korean puppet army as well as a great deal of the latest military hardware.

However, the U.S. imperialists had no idea about the immense strength of the army and people of the DPRK.

The army and people of the DPRK who rose as one under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung decisively beat back the armed invasion by the U.S. imperialists to win a historic victory in the three-year long war.

The myth of the U.S. "mightiness" was shattered to pieces by its defeat in the war.

The world got to know well through the war that the U.S. much-touted "mightiness" was just nonsense.

The U.S. imperialists have staged military provocations and war drills for aggression even after the war ended in a truce.

The army and people of the DPRK have reliably defended the security of socialist country and the revolutionary gains under the leadership of the great party.

The U.S., however, is still resorting to the high-handed policy toward the DPRK, crying out that strength is almighty.

If the U.S. imperialists unleash another war in Korea, trumpeting the strength-almighty theory, being oblivious of the historical lesson in the 1950s, they will meet more shameful, bitter defeat.
