Kim Il Sung Praised by Papers of Bangladesh, Syria
Pyongyang, July 20 (KCNA) -- Bangladeshi and Syrian papers carried special write-ups on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung.

A Bangladeshi paper on July 2 carried an article titled "People's leader", illustrated with photos of Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. It said:

18 years have passed since the President passed away but the Korean people are holding him in high esteem as eternal President of the DPRK. The President, who was born as the son of the people, devoted his whole life to their wellbeing. Regarding it as his maxim to believe in the people as in Heaven, he made sure that the system of free medical care and free educational system were enforced, and turned the DPRK into a country free from tax for the first time in the world.

The Bangladeshi papers Natun Bangla and Blits on July 6 and 3 carried a special article titled "Eternal reverence" with a portrait of the smiling President.

He was awarded orders, medals, honorary titles and gifts from many countries and international and regional organizations even after his demise, the papers said, adding he is enjoying immortality amid reverence of the world progressives.

The Syrian paper Al Baath on July 8 carried an article titled "Iron-willed commander Kim Il Sung".

It said that he was the iron-willed commander who liberated Korea by leading the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory and defeated the U.S. in the 1950-1953 Korean War for the first time in history.
