Korean Book, Photo and Fine Art Exhibition Opens in Russia
Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- A Korean book, photo and fine art exhibition was opened at the Far Eastern Fine Arts Museum in Khabarovsk City on July 12 to mark the 10th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's visit to the Far Eastern Region of Russia and the 1st anniversary of his visit to the Siberia and Far Eastern Region.

Displayed at its venue were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, books and photos showing the true picture of Songun Korea and fine art pieces associated with the resourcefulness and talents of the Korean people.

Speeches were made at the opening ceremony.

The vice-minister of Culture of the Government of Khabarovsk Territory, the vice-director of the Bureau for International Economic Relations of the government and other speakers said the splendid exhibition will greatly contribute to developing the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between Russia and the DPRK.

Kim Jong Il's historic visits to Russia laid a reliable foundation for boosting the friendly relations between the two countries, they noted.

The First Far Eastern International Military Band Festival held in May with the military band of the Korean People's Army attending left unforgettable memories to Khabarovsk citizens, they said, extending thanks again to the dear respected Kim Jong Un for having sent the wonderful military band.

They expressed conviction that the ties between the Far Eastern Region and the DPRK would continue developing favorably in the political, economic, cultural and other fields.
