Korean Powdered Jewel Paintings Popular at Int'l Art Festival
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- Korean powdered jewel paintings were highly appreciated at the fine art festival of the 20th "Master Class" International Art Festival held in Russia from June 3 to July 10.

The festival brought together talented painters from the DPRK, Russia, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, the U.S. and other countries.

Powdered jewel paintings created by painters of the Mansudae Art Studio drew attention of the participants in the festival.

Members of the festival organizing committee and fine art experts were unsparing in their praises of the very high level of representation, noting that powdered jewel paintings are fine art pieces requiring high skill.

The participants of the festival said those paintings were the best in the use of rare materials, fascinating art and soft and exquisite representation.

Powdered jewel paintings "Way to Mt. Paektu" and "Tiger,"etc, in particular, greatly impressed visitors. These works were created by Sin Pong Hwa, head of the Powdered Jewel Painting Creative Group of the Mansudae Art Studio.

A diploma of the festival was awarded to Sin.
