Construction of Hwangnam Youth Saltern Completed
Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- The construction of the Hwangnam Youth Saltern was completed in the DPRK with due ceremony on Friday.

The saltern was built in Ongjinbunjiman tideland in the West Sea of Korea. It laid a foundation for bringing about a new turn in developing the economy and improving people's living standard in South Hwanghae Province.

There are seawater reservoirs, evaporating ponds and crystallization ponds covering hundreds of hectares in the saltern in which seawater is fed to the fields by use of gravity.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il set forth the task for building the saltern in the tideland and solved all the problems ranging from mapping out construction plan and supplying materials.

The dear respected Kim Jong Un acquainted himself with the construction of the large-scale saltern to solve knotty problems and let the saltern be called Hwangnam Youth Saltern.

Read out at the ceremony was a message of thanks from the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea to builders, technicians and officials who successfully built the saltern.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, Pak Yong Ho, chief secretary of the South Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the WPK, Jo Yong Chol, minister of Foodstuff and Daily Necessities Industry, officials concerned, builders and other people.
