Anniversary of Demise of Kim Il Sung Marked Abroad
Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- Events took place in various countries between June 27 and 30 in commemoration of the 18th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung.

They included remembrance meetings in Switzerland and Nigeria, a seminar in Democratic Congo and a lecture in Guinea.

The chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee said the President was a great leader highly respected by the Korean people and the world progressive people.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il made sure that the President was held in high esteem as the eternal President of the DPRK and turned the DPRK into an invincible military power by pursuing Songun politics, he noted, adding Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Korean people, is the great successor to the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The chairman of the Nigerian National Committee for Memory to President Kim Il Sung said the President was, indeed, the most prominent statesman in the 20th century.

Under the deep interests and energetic leadership of the President the non-aligned movement has expanded and strengthened to powerful independent forces against imperialism, he said, adding the President was, indeed, a genuine friend and great benefactor of the developing countries.

The vice-chairman of the National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of Democratic Congo elaborated on how the President thoroughly applied the Juche idea to revolution and construction.

The chief of the Guinean Group for the Study of Kimjongilism said the President found himself among the people all his life going unreserved and sharing destiny with them.

So the Korean people are still holding him as their eternal leader and father though long time has passed since his demise, the chief added.

A message to the dear respected Kim Jong Un was adopted at an event in Switzerland.
