The committee said in the press release that the statement is the most fair and aboveboard principle for reunification as it makes it possible to solve the issue of Korea's reunification peacefully by concerted efforts of the Koreans free from foreign interference and that it is also a programme for reunification to be consistently held to together with the June 15 north-south joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The press release noted: On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the statement our committee pays high tribute to the great President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il who performed great feats through their indefatigable efforts for the country's reunification.

We are sure that the DPRK and Korean people will foil the moves of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet regime to keep Korea divided indefinitely and surely emerge victorious in the struggle for the country's reunification on the basis of the north-south statement and declarations.

The Korean nation is the inseparable, homogenous nation.
