The novel deals with the touching world of noble loyalty and moral obligation of leader Kim Jong Il who successfully realized the cause of perpetuating the memory of President Kim Il Sung for the first time in history.

The novel shows the Korean people weathering out all sorts of hardships in the mid-1990s while trying to overcome the grief over the loss of President Kim Il Sung.

Kim Jong Il, regarding him as a soldier of the President, declined to accept the top post and honor which the era and people presented to him but held the President in high esteem. Thanks to his noble virtue and moral obligation the history of the sun was given continuity in this land.

Through the portrayal of various characters the novel shows the pure mental world of all the servicepersons and people who entrusted their destiny to Kim Jong Il and remained true to his leadership.
