Moving to New Houses Goes On in Changjon Street
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- Moving to new houses is going on in Changjon Street, Pyongyang.

In the DPRK modern dwelling houses are offered to ordinary citizens, including blue and white collar workers, free of charge.

One of the newcomers to the street, Sin Chol Gwon, who is a worker at the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex, told KCNA:

"This is the third time for my family to move to new houses for over 10 years.

Therefore, my children's birthplaces are all different. My eldest son was born in Jangchung-dong No.1 in Songyo District and the second son in Sinri-dong, Tongdaewon District. My daughter was born in Mangyongdae District in Juche 97 (2008). And my wife is now pregnant again."

His wife Pak Un Jong said:

"People would say that my husband and I are lucky in housing.

But we owe the luck to our social system that values the workers so much.

When we got married, the country was in hard time, the period of 'Arduous March'. But the State gave us, a discharged soldier-turned-worker couple, a house and better ones again afterwards.

My fourth child will be born here in Changjon Street, which was built under the loving care of leader Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Kim Jong Un for the people.

My children's birth certificates represent the benefits we have received from our socialist system."
