Vice-Chairman of S. HQ of Pomminryon Interviewed
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Ro Su Hui, vice-chairman of the South Headquarters of Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon), was interviewed by KCNA at Pyongyang Koryo Hotel on Tuesday before going back to the south after wrapping up his itinerary in the north.

He said that he visited Pyongyang to take part in the memorial service on the lapse of 100 days after the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

He went on to say:

The South Headquarters of Pomminryon decided to pay visit to the north to express condolences before the bier of the chairman of the National Defence Commission and make a contribution, though small, to improving the deteriorated inter-Korean relations. It presented an application for Pyongyang visit to the "Ministry of Unification" of south Korea, but it was turned down.

Therefore, according the decision of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon I had to come to Pyongyang via a third country despite the authorities' disallowance.

I took part in the celebrations of the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung held amid great attention of the world, the event marking the June 1 International Children's Day and other grand events. I visited the secret camp in Mt. Paektu, Mt. Kumgang area, Huichon Power Station No. 2, newly built Changjon Street, factories, rural areas, cities and villages.

While in the north I have felt that the north where the leader and the people form a harmonious whole will surely build a thriving nation thanks to political stability and strong economic potential.

In the north the people are regarded as Heaven, children as kings and the single-minded unity is stronger than nuclear weapons.

The fellow countrymen in the north trust in and follow the supreme commander as their father as he is pursuing politics of love for the people and posterity, believing in them as in Heaven.

They do not allow anyone to defame the dignity of the supreme leadership even a bit.

Everybody I met here was full of confidence and hope and ardently desired national reunification.

Expressing his will to struggle to the last against the conservative authorities who are going to bring unreasonable charges against him, he noted:

As I feel no compunction before the nation and history, I am going to go back to the south via Panmunjom on July 5 after winding up my itinerary.

I intend to tell everything I have seen, heard and experienced in the north to people who were taken in by the conservative media's propaganda and accuse the anti-reunification forces of their crimes.

I will devote myself to the struggle for implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, a shortcut to national reconciliation, peace and prosperity.
