Ensuring Workers' Right to Existence Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a rally in Seoul on June 28 urging the "government" authorities to guarantee workers' right to existence.

Present there were more than 40 000 including those from the women's union, metal trade union and construction trade union which are affiliated to the Confederation and members of the opposition party.

At the rally the speakers deplored the workers' right to existence being violated by the authorities' unjust lay-off and expansion of part-time jobs.

They urged the authorities to repeal all evil labor laws including the one on part-time jobs and opt to revise the labor laws for ensuring the right of the workers.

They vowed to fight it out against the authorities' pro-plutocrats policy.

A resolution was read out at the rally.

Increasing is the number of workers being expelled from the working sites after working extra hours with low pay, it deplored.

It said that by giving full vent to the wrath of the workers, they would certainly realize the desire of the people: "We can live no more, let's change the regime!"

The participants shouted "Let's win the basic right to labor by abolishing evil labor laws!" stirring up the atmosphere of the struggle.

That day the fascist authorities let more than 80 companies of police forces encircle the venue of the rally, creating a terror-ridden atmosphere.
