Korea's Reunification-related Monuments Introduced by Nigerian Organization
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea on June 24 posted an article on its Internet website to mark the 40th anniversary of the July 4 Joint Statement adopted between the north and the south of Korea.

The article titled "Monument to President Kim Il Sung's signature on national reunification" said:

There is a monument to President Kim Il Sung's signature on national reunification in Panmunjom, Kaesong City in the central part of the Korean Peninsula. The President put forward many proposals for reunification and led the whole Korean nation to the struggle for reunification. He left the last autograph in his life reading "Kim Il Sung, July 7, 1994" on a document related to the north-south highest-level talks.

The Korean people erected the monument in order to convey his desire for reunification for all ages.

Leader Kim Jong Il, who visited Panmunjom in November 1996, underscored the need to reunify the country without fail as desired by the President.

The website gave a detailed account of the Three Charters for National Reunification Memorial Tower. It also introduced the United Front Tower on Ssuk Islet in Pyongyang.

The monuments are giving the people conviction and optimism about the bright future of Korea's reunification and powerfully encouraging the whole Korean nation to the struggle for national reunification, it added.
