S. Korean Paper Calls for Reexamination of Issue of Military Agreement with Japan
Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- The Kyunghyang Daily News of south Korea on June 30 carried an editorial calling for reexamination of the issue of concluding a military agreement with Japan.

The "government" cancelled the signing of the agreement whose conclusion it pushed forward in great haste, the paper said, adding it was because of the strong protest of political, media and various other circles.

The attitude the "government" has taken so far casts doubt as to whether the recent measure was not aimed to secure a justification for railroading the agreement, it said, and went on:

What matters is that the "government" is highly likely to go through the procedures for concluding it in the wake of briefing on the issue at a "National Assembly" session.

The NA should not just listen to the explanation given by the "government" but reexamine the issue from A to Z and severely punish those who pushed ahead with the matter.

The above-said issue should certainly be reexamined in view of the relations with Japan, which is obliged to settle its past crimes.
