S. Korean Regime's Act of Treachery under Fire
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- 48 civic and social organizations in south Korea on June 28 held a press conference in Seoul to denounce the Lee Myung Bak puppet regime for attempting to conclude a military treaty with Japan.

Among them were the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, the Association of Reservists for Peace of south Korea and the Center for Peace and Disarmament of the Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society.

They condemned the Lee "government" for reneging on its promise made before south Korean people and passing a bill on the treaty through the "National Assembly" in less than a month after the promise was made.

They lashed out at the Lee regime for pressing for the issue of concluding the treaty without holding even an open hearing.

They branded such military cooperation with Japan as an intolerable action as Japan is keen on grabbing Tok islets and denying its past crimes.

This diametrically runs counter to peace and stability in Northeast Asia including the Korean Peninsula as it is to secure a legal means needed to establish the missile defense system led by the U.S., the bodies noted.

The military cooperation intensified between south Korea and Japan is prompted by the U.S. strategy on world domination and this is just a joint product of Japan's militarist ambition and the Lee regime's policy for confrontation with compatriots, they said.

The conclusion of the treaty with Japan is just an act of opening a road for aggression, said the organizations, adding that such an action should be checked without fail.

They called on all south Koreans to shatter to pieces in unity the move to conclude the treaty.
