June 15 North-South Joint Declaration Remains Alive: Minju Joson
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- Recent colorful events for reunification held in different parts of south Korea to mark the 12th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration clearly demonstrated their firm will to carry out the joint declaration, says Minju Joson in a bylined commentary Sunday.

In the events people from all walks of life said that Lee Myung Bak is going to ditch the June 15 joint declaration but if they struggle against him, the joint declaration can be kept alive. They also called for judging the Lee regime, keeping the joint declaration alive without fail and bringing earlier national reunification.

Posted on Internet homepages were articles titled "if the joint declaration is kept alive, the reunification will be achieved but if the joint declaration is ditched, a war will break out".

The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration is the supreme programme of the nation in which the north and the south agreed to settle the issue of national reunification independently by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation itself and which they solemnly published at home and abroad, the commentary says, and goes on:

The Lee Myung Bak group of traitors has persisted in dependence on foreign forces and confrontation with fellow countrymen by insisting on the "policy toward the north" such as "no-nukes, opening and 3 000 dollars" after denying the north-south joint declarations and refusing to implement them.

It is going the lengths of cracking down on people supporting the June 15 joint declaration, calling them "forces following the north". It rubbed salt into the wound of fellow countrymen who grieved over the demise of the father of the nation and committed hideous crimes in succession, daring hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK. The north-south relations plunged into a complete deadlock and the touch-and-go situation is prevailing on the Korean peninsula due to the Lee group's moves for confrontation with fellow countrymen. It is very natural that south Korean people vowed to shatter the Lee group's moves for destroying the joint declaration, and implement it. The June 15 spirit remains alive in the minds of the south Koreans.
