Anniversary of June 15 North-South Joint Declaration Marked in Germany
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- The German branch of the Korean Friendship Association issued a bulletin on June 14 to mark the 12th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

The bulletin said:

The north-south summit was held in Pyongyang in June of 2000 amid great concern and expectation of the world. The two sides adopted the historic joint declaration, ushering in the June 15 era of reunification.

Exchanges and cooperation were brisk in different fields and the enthusiasm to achieve reunification mounted after the publication of the joint declaration.

The movement for national reunification gained in scope on a nationwide scale.

The north-south summit which took place in October of 2007 in the course of implementing the June 15 joint declaration resulted in the adoption of the "Declaration for Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity."

Recalling that the efforts made by the DPRK for national reunification faced great hurdles due to the anti-reunification and treacherous acts of the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors in south Korea to escalate the confrontation with fellow countrymen, the bulletin went on:

The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration reflected the desire of the Korean people and the requirements of the times.

We express full support for the Korean people in their struggle for implementing the declarations.
