Events Abroad Mark Anniversaries in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries to mark the 48th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the 12th anniversary of the June 15 North and South Joint Declaration.

They included a remembrance meeting in Peru, a seminar in the Czech Republic, a rally, book and photo exhibition and a film show in Switzerland and lectures in Indonesia from June 7 to 14.

Displayed in the venues were books and photos introducing the immortal exploits performed by Kim Jong Il.

The president of the General Kim Jong Il Peruvian Amicable Institute who is president of the Peruvian National Independent Movement for Free Voting's Union said that Kim Jong Il led the Korean revolution along the road of the victory till the last moments of his life and steadily developed the WPK into an ever-victorious party and the DPRK into an invincible socialist power.

The chairman of the Czech Group for the Study and Materialization of the Juche Idea said that Kim Jong Il's start of work at the WPK Central Committee marked a turn in strengthening the WPK into President Kim Il Sung's party.

The secretary general of the Switzerland-Korea Committee lauded Kim Jong Il's exploits in the cause of national reunification, adding that he provided a north-south summit meeting in June 2000 and opened up a bright prospect for the national reunification.

Messages to the dear respected Kim Jong Un were adopted at the events in Peru and Czech.

Meanwhile, a Korean book and art exhibition was opened in Russia on June 16 to mark the anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of work at the C.C., the WPK.
