Pyongyang Circus Greets Its 60th Birthday
Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- A congratulatory message of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea was conveyed on Wednesday to the Pyongyang Circus on its 60th birthday.

The Circus was founded on June 10, Juche 41 (1952) when the country was in the thick of the Fatherland Liberation War.

Since its debut that year, it created more than 1 000 pieces of physical acrobatics, juggleries, interludes and animal stunts.

The circus introduced ice acrobatics and synchronized swimming, putting the country's acrobatics on a higher level. It has made performance tours of many countries.

It took titles 30 odd times at the world acrobatic championships and international acrobatic festivals, including Monte Carlo International Circus Festival, winning gold and special prizes and stunt prizes.

The grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" and the grand magic offer a glimpse of the development of the circus.

The circus is proud of many People's Artists and Merited Artists as well as young talents. It has Pyongyang Acrobatic School and the Pyongyang Circus Theater.

Typical of its works are "Flying Girls" and "Diverse Flight."

The circus was awarded Order of Kim Il Sung.
