Danger of Joint Naval Drills Exposed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 24 (KCNA) -- 55 civic and public organizations of south Korea including the Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society, the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and the Solidarity for Progress held a joint press conference in Seoul on June 21, at which they exposed the danger of the joint naval drills staged by south Korea, the U.S. and Japan.

The joint naval maneuvers staged in the waters around Jeju Island were of offensive nature, the organizations said.

Military cooperation with Japan, in particular, will pave the way for Japan's reinvasion of the Korean Peninsula as it is keen on distorting history and realizing its ambition to grab Tok Islets without making apology and reparation for its past crimes, they held.

The recent saber-rattling was dangerous because they created conditions not only for the U.S. but for the Japan "Self-Defense Forces" to stage military exercises on the Korean Peninsula in the future, the organizations stressed.
